So, you have a problem and you have options. Of those options, there are solutions which could be bought, or you can build something.
It really must be remembered that whatever you build must be supported and maintained, and that buying something should mainly satisfy your needs; nothing is perfect.
Buying may also need, and certainly not limited to, approvals, reviews, legal department involvement, budget lines, training, proof of concepts.
